4th Edition of the Joint Regional Seminar between the Insurance and Social Welfare Supervisory Authority of the Kingdom of Morocco (ACAPS) and the Financial Services Authority of the Sultanate of Oman (FSA)
Theme: Enhancing Supervisory Resilience in Insurance Markets in the Middle East and North Africa
As part of the institutional partnership between the Insurance and Social Welfare Supervisory Authority (ACAPS) of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Financial Services Authority (FSA) of the Sultanate of Oman, the two authorities will jointly organise the fourth edition of their Regional Seminar on 1–2 December 2026, at The View Hotel, in the Hay Riad district of Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco, under the theme “Enhancing Supervisory Resilience in Insurance Markets in the Middle East and North Africa.”
The seminar aims to strengthen supervisory dialogue and foster the exchange of knowledge, experiences and best practices among insurance supervisory authorities and subject-matter experts. It will also provide a platform to discuss key developments and challenges facing insurance markets across the region, while exploring supervisory practices that contribute to financial stability and enhance the effectiveness of insurance regulation and supervision.
The seminar programme will address a range of priority topics, including risk-based solvency, macroprudential supervision and systemic risk, artificial intelligence applications and cybersecurity challenges, market conduct and policyholder protection, as well as the role of supervisory authorities in strengthening resilience to emerging risks and evolving challenges.
The programme will also feature contributions and presentations from the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), alongside a specialised workshop facilitated by the International Actuarial Association (IAA), focusing on strengthening actuarial capacity and developing technical expertise across the Middle East and North Africa region.
This seminar builds on the longstanding cooperation between the two authorities and reflects their shared commitment to strengthening coordination and facilitating the exchange of supervisory knowledge and expertise. Through these collaborative efforts, both authorities seek to support the development of supervisory frameworks, enhance the preparedness of insurance markets to respond to evolving conditions and emerging risks, and contribute to the resilience and sustainable growth of the insurance sector across the region.
