The Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS) is participating in the 35th General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF) Conference, held in Jordan from 4 to 7 October 2026 under the theme “Back to Principles.”
As part of the event, the President of ACAPS, Mr Abderrahim Chaffai, is taking part in discussions focusing on key developments and major challenges facing the insurance sector in the region.
The Conference brings together representatives of regulatory authorities, insurance and reinsurance executives and professionals, as well as experts from various Arab and international markets.
The discussions notably address the challenges of digital transformation for the insurance sector, the modelling and underwriting of emerging risks, parametric insurance in response to catastrophic risks, the application of actuarial expertise to artificial intelligence, as well as new risk transfer instruments.
On the sidelines of the Conference, a meeting was held between ACAPS and the Central Bank of Jordan, which is responsible for the regulation and supervision of the insurance sector in its jurisdiction. This meeting took place within the framework of the cooperation between the two institutions.
ACAPS’ participation in this event is part of its ongoing efforts to promote cooperation and the exchange of expertise at both regional and international levels.
