The Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS) and the Moroccan Insurance Federation (FMA) signed a Charter on 16th April 2025, on the sidelines of the “Rendez-vous de Casablanca de l'Assurance", regarding the integration of the gender aspect in the development and marketing of insurance products.

This initiative is part of the national strategic guidelines for financial inclusion and the promotion of equity between women and men. It aims to strengthen women's access to insurance cover tailored to their needs and to encourage the development of a more inclusive offer.

In order to achieve this, the Charter sets out a series of commitments for players in the insurance sector, including :
– the data collection, analysis and use of gender-disaggregated data in order to identify and reduce disparities in access to insurance products ;

– the tailoring and creation of insurance products that take into account the specific characteristics and needs of women ;

– the implementation of awareness-raising and training campaigns for insurance intermediaries and policyholders on the issues of gender equity in insurance.

It should be noted that ACAPS will support the implementation of this Charter through regular monitoring and the promotion of good practices, while ensuring that products are adapted to the specific needs of women.

The Charter will be monitored by a committee made up of representatives of ACAPS, the FMA and the signatory companies, who will be responsible for periodically assessing progress and making recommendations.

This approach illustrates the insurance industry's commitment to actively contributing to the economic and social inclusion of women, by offering appropriate solutions and promoting fairer coverage of risks.
